Seasoned Entrepreuneur, Chairman of SUSU Microfinance, Nigeria

Kwabena Rangi Smith, a seasoned entrepreneur is the founder of Orun Energy Global and Orun Energy Africa. Kwabena sought to maximize energy efficiencies in commercial markets across Africa with low-cost technologies. Orun Energy has been the business vehicle for driving his vision, with particular focus on the wireless telecoms sector. Orun Energy Global now heads a consortium of eight (8) companies worldwide that lead their respective sectors. The primary focus of the consortium is to introduce alternative power technology and energy efficiency solutions in base stations to the fast growing African telecommunications sector. Orun Africa is incorporated in Mauritius.

Kwabena is currently Chairman of Susu Micro Finance Ltd, a start up microfinance bank, based in Lagos, Nigeria. Kwabena has over twenty(20) years of experience in entrepreneurship and business development. He has been involved in a number of business start-ups in Ghana, South Africa and the United States. His main interests are business strategy, bottom of pyramid markets, applied technology and renewable energy. Kwabena holds degrees in French and History from the University of Lagos.
