Global Warming: A Problem with a Solution

After years of debate, consensus among most of the world's scientists holds that we are responsible for unnatural warming the planet. Unless we take steps now to curb global warming, our way of life, our planet, and our children will be left in disastrous circumstances.
There is hope to reverse the course of climate change. Each of us can make simple decisions that will reduce global warming pollution.

Responsible Choices

The choices we make and the products we buy test our commitment to maintain a healthy planet. Our planet is surrounded by a blanket of gases, which enable the surface of the earth to remain warm and sustain life. This blanket is getting thicker, and trapping in heat due to the greenhouse gases that are released when we burn fossil fuels for energy. By trapping more of the sun's heat, the earth's temperature is starting to rise. This phenomenon is known as global warming.

Choosing modern technology can reduce our use of fossil fuels and help protect the planet.

Mecene Investment is joining the low carbon economy!

Joining the low carbon economy is a simple, affordable and a visible way for businesses to cut their greenhouse emissions.

What is the low carbon economy?

The low carbon economy is a rapidly growing number of businesses pursuing business decisions that are climate change-sensitive. The combined efforts of low-carbon economy will have a positive effect on the earth’s climate.

Coal-burning power plants are the largest source of global warming pollution and companies must reduce their reliance on this form of energy. Members of low-carbon economy measure their carbon footprint according to their energy use. The company then institutes the recommended energy efficiency and reduction strategies to decrease their footprint as much as possible. The emissions that remain can be neutralized through purchasing the required amount of carbon offsets.

By neutralizing the carbon emissions from our day-to-day business, we will ground our corporate sustainability record in real and measurable positive change. Due to our extensive travel schedules we are in the process of selecting companies to offset our travel-related emissions by purchasing carbon-credit from specialized companies.

Mecene Investment believes that current scientific evidence is sufficient to compel prudent action in response to global climate change. That is why we want to take action and are looking for a partner to assist us in formulating our internal Climate Change response strategy.

Our ultimate objective is to become as close to carbon neutral as possible and in doing so, demonstrate our responsibility towards climate change.

We believe that responsible environmental practice is an integral part of how we run our business. As a result, we plan to manage our impact on the environment as well as set targets to continually improve our environmental performance. In the near future, we  aim to regularly monitor, review and report our progress on these issues.
