WHY THE NAME "MECENE"?

The French word “mecene” refers to a patron of the arts and sciences, a benefactor that uses both financial resources and a network of influential friends to support and encourage those with exceptional talent and potential.

The word traces its origins to Gaius Clinius Maecenas (70-8 BC), an advisor to Caesar Augustus and an important patron of Roman poets and philosophers—most notably Virgil and Horace. A “mecene” works to find talented individuals and provide them with the support they need when no one else recognizes their promise. The name exemplifies the ethos of our company.
